How PDF unlocking works

A password-free copy, made on your device

The tool reads each selected PDF on your device and creates a new copy without standard password protection.

Use a password you know

For a password-protected file, enter its user or owner password. This tool does not guess or recover unknown passwords.

Remove ordinary restrictions

If a PDF opens without a password but blocks printing, copying or editing, leave the password blank.

Keep the original

Copies use the localized “-unlocked” suffix and remain available individually or together in a ZIP. Source PDFs are not overwritten.

Standard password-based PDF protection is supported. Certificate security, enterprise DRM and damaged files may not be unlockable.
