Quick guide
How to use the map
Find a place, choose your level of detail, and read the map.
Move, zoom, and search
Drag with the mouse to move the map; scroll over it to zoom. Scrolling outside the map moves the page. On touchscreens, one finger scrolls the page and two fingers move or pinch the map. Search accepts names in all six languages, with or without accents.
Read countries, regions, and cities
Country names use prominent serif lettering, states and provinces use italic names, and cities have bold names beside a point. More names and regional boundaries appear as you zoom in. Select a place to see its name and type.
Choose layers and expand the view
Use Layers to show or hide country names, regional boundaries and names, or cities. Expand the map to fill the viewport; there, one finger moves the map and two fingers zoom. Press Escape or the restore button to return to the page.
